To this retreat of timeless serenity and beauty come 40 guests each week. In the company of new friends they explore ways of creating mind, body, and spirit balance. Though close to San Diego, the Door's architecture and gardens replicate an ancient Japanese inn. Sophisticated and state -of -the -art, the Door's programs, kitchen, and staff fairly burst with an enthusiasm and energy that is completely contagious. Hiking trails on the 377-acre resort wind upward through mountain lavender and avocado groves to breathtaking views. Only 40 guests partake each week. The attentive staff is noted for joy of service and anticipation of every need. Cuisine is superb, enhanced by delectable fruits and vegetables picked daily from organic gardens. The all-inclusive rate includes a private room, gourmet meals and healthy snacks, daily massage and face or body treatment, nutritional counseling, and evening programs.
